Meter Mistress
Since Alabamian has so much fun with his Sitemeter readings, I thought I'd take a few minutes and look over my Extreme Tracker reports to find the search strings that get people here (yes, anything to avoid actual work).
I'm starting to understand that this can lead to some amusing and disconcerting discoveries.
- Since my post about Tom Delay's visit to Saipan's sweatshops, I've had numerous hits from search engine queries using "sex" and "Saipan." Apparently it's also a sex tourist destination. Like these women don't already have it bad enough sewing your clothes together for 12 cents an hour.
- "products made northern mariana islands ralph lauren" At the same time, it's nice to know people are learning something here.
- "joseph conrad favorite things" and "heart darkness dualism" Ah, a kindred spirit.
- "mechanical bull birmingham" Ah, the opposite of a kindred spirit. I forgot the term "mechanical bull" was anywhere on my blog. Then I remembered my anti-Hardees rant.
- "tuscaloosa babysitter" Sorry, don't know of one.
- "localtint susan" Guess I'm making a name for myself.
- "does the wife have help pay husbands medical bills alabama" Really, I don't want to get in the middle of anything here.
- "looking for places buy cold flu formula canada" Please go now, Mr. Meth-Cooker.
- "the awakening dvd vhs kate chopin" Sorry, I've been unable to find a decent version myself. But I have a dream of writing a screenplay for it one day, perhaps directing it myself and starring as the heroine.
- "escambia high school 2005 gay straight alliance success" Good luck with that.
- "baptist beliefs guns" Interesting. I had to Google that one myself.
- "nascar sexist man contest" Four hits off this one. Either someone's really delving into NASCAR culture or a bunch of people really can't spell. If it's the former, please keep me informed.
- "confederate flag tint" Really. Go. Now.
- "queer eye straight guy iraq backstory" Okay, I'm intrigued.
- "gilmore girls controversy" What's this? Trouble in painfully-mediocre-TV land?
- "love stuff birmingham" and "love stuff Hoover" These are two of my most popular search strings. Surprising considering the uproar, huh?
- "real naked wives posted their husbands" And with that, I end this installment.

You realize you're just feeding my ego, right? So, um, yes, keep up the good work.

I'm very curious about the "real naked wives posted their husbands" search.
